Mona Xuna's Art Gallery gets Web exposure
Efforts of a Brazilian Artist, who established residence in South
Dakota, to reach her clientele
April 29, 2000 -- Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Artist Morgana
("Mona") Xuna has just established a presence on the
Internet. Mona moved to Sioux Falls from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in
1996. On that year she exhibited her canvasses at the Sioux Falls Civic Fine Arts
Center (as Morgana
Aguiar - her maiden name). That
year, she married Juan Xuna, a Telecommunications Engineer. In an
effort to reach larger audiences they moved to the greater-Miami metropolitan
area in 1997, and to a suburb of Kansas City in 1999. Mona confides us
..."We decided to return to South Dakota. We missed a lot of
things. Especially, we missed our country-dancing friends, and the
tranquility of our home at the shores of Wall lake. Furthermore, our
house (8 miles West of Sioux Falls) has been built as a Gallery, with picture
lights built-in on walls, and wall space for more than 60 canvasses.
No apartment that we lived was even close to match these features".
Her husband Juan adds .."Exposure on the Web will compensate for the
implicit market limitations that artists have to endure when settling in sparsely
populated areas. As a nice surprise I bought for her two huge 18-foot palm
trees, which now adorn our great-room. These trees together with the colorful jungle-scenery
of her paintings makes our South Dakota home feel as a small Brazilian
paradise" .
